The Holy Bible of Psychiatry, A Threat to Children?

WBCRAvatar.jpgLIVE -  The coming DSM V edits

DSM4.jpgSchizophrenia.jpg

Pharmaceutical companies are about to start raining pills down upon our children.  The DSM (Diagnostic Statistical Manual), the holy bible of the behavioral sciences, is about to undergo changes to its core so resounding and dramatic, that  psychiatrists will  be able to proscribe meds, especially anti-psychotic meds, in such a widening scope of cases, that alarm bells are being rung loudly.

Sex and Politics this week

Hi Fans,

This week Sex and Politics is cancelled because the Brooklyn College Campus is closed.  However that doesn't mean  you can't have your weekly fill.  Here's one of our favorite episodes from this season, definitely worth listening to again.

Also be sure to join us next week as Doctors Brent Dean Robbins, Jacqueline Simon Gunn, and Kyle Arnold give us an update on the uphill battle they are fighting for their patients in the form the DSM editing process.  This promises to be a barn burner, so don't miss it!

Why horror film makers are more fun to hang with than comedians–really?

JeremiahKipp02.jpgAaronDavidGleason.jpgGabrielGuerrero.jpg

Our guests from left to right: Jeremiah Kipp, Aaron David Gleason, and Gabriel Guerrero

Join your hosts Philip Rosenberg, Lauren Keating, Mike Hovel, Charles Carr, Sandra Lopez and poet in residence Joe Wade as we explore the psychology of the horror film genre with Filmmaker Jeremiah Kipp.  Jeremiah brought his very own magical mystery guest in the form of musician and actor Aaron David Gleason.  At the one hour mark we are also joined by jazz impresario Gabriel Guerrero, for whom we broke all the rules.

Don't miss this exciting episode that was, to be honest, more Sex than Politics :)
